I’m a soldier.
I’ve been a soldier since I left high school. When I was a kid, all I ever wanted to be was a soldier. I’ve never done anything but be a soldier. I’m not even sure how people on the outside function. I’ve been institutionalized, like Brooks from The Shawshank Redemption (you know, the old motherfucker that hangs himself when he gets out of prison.)
The Army’s been good to me, it’s been bad to me, and really — I’m ready to do something else. I’m not sure what, but I do know one thing for certain: If I didn’t have to earn my cash, I’d never work another day in my life.
So that’s my plan, I guess. I’ll set myself up to retire as soon as possible. This blog will detail the steps I take to achieve that goal.
